Oh heck, Rust!

Power washed the disco the other day, not good!
Ended up cutting a 1 ' long strip out of the chassis and butt welding in a 3mm thick patch. Then a pin hole appeared on the inside of the chassis rail so that got cut out too. Bit of a blow, should have cleaned the whole area properly. P.I.T.A to cut out having already welded up the bottom
Needless to say the rear shocks were replaced
There was then a long session with the waxoyl gun on the internal chassis rails

Ewww, I hate that kind of stuff, rust! But that is a nice patch job you did. Did you paint before you waxoyled?

Yep lashings of paint on first.

Pressure washed the ninety this afternoon. Guess I'll be getting the welder out again soon
Not so distressed about the rust in this case 'cause the truck is 20 years old, been used on a farm and kept outside for all its life. took months to extract all the straw from the nooks 'n' crannies.
Pics to follow when the weather is better!
