Odd question

why must you pay 85k [ i think this is the price ] for a imported puma from the same company that will sell one for 26,000lbs = $41,500 + a new chassis $2500 + install ] + a donor + shipping [ 2000 ] + someone to do it for you. seems like there is a lot of fudge room in these....

like this one per say:

this ought to stir up everyones day.

Probably the same reason why people pay a premium to buy from a dealer rather than do all the legwork themselves hunting down the perfect truck - we're inherently lazy!

Risk.
I didn't look at the ad but I assume you are paying 85k because it is here. You can pay less and try to import it yourself and hope it makes it in. Roll the dice.

You must be bored. Something tells me you knew the answer.

The Brits can't believe that there is a market for VIN swaps in the US ... Figure the margin if you didn't have to pay full price for your donor vehicle ... Have virtually zero chance of being caught as the evidence left the country ...

Yeah, definitely risk and realizing you could spend your time doing better things.

I seem to recall someone not buying a set of boost wheels because there was a little bit of mud on them and complaining they didn't want to scrub them at all even though they were dirt cheap - people will pay a premium for not having to worry about the details, or putting in a little elbow grease.

not you, Jason - someone else in this thread...

That looked like THIS when a little Eagle One / elbow grease was applied!!

Just saying. The analogy: they could have arrived and maybe the dirt WOULDN'T have come off, or maybe it would have taken a little extra money to get them cleaned up than you had originally budgeted. Or, you can pay the premium for a set that just shows up at your door with "no worries".

I just think all the Puma talk should be a lot less on this forum. Don't need another buddy having the FEDs take their prize new truck. Prices will range from 40k to 200k.... go figure.
