OBD2 scanner/reader

Looking for a OBD2 scanner/reader options for around $200. Want to diagnose just enough to get me onto trouble. What are some good options?

If you have iPhone or android phone, just get the obd2 reader from Amazon and the app for less than $30.

A friend gave me one of those ELM 327 wi-fi readers and I got a free app on my iPad called OBDCarDoctor. It works.

I am looking for one that does more than just read and clear codes. I am having a low idle and hesitation issue and would like to see what the tps is doing to rule some things out. Can those apps show engine management details like that?

For advanced diagnostic capability I think it's always best to use the official stuff. For BMW it's DIS. For Land Rover I guess you need a T4. New Original T4 Mobile Plus Diagnostic System for Land Rover | eBay

I think the T4 might be a little over my budget

Yeah that is pretty expensive. For BMW it's only like $15 on eBay for some DIS software and a inpa usb cable that will turn any computer into a full fledged dealer diagnostic tool. You'd think there'd be something similar for Land Rover. Might be worth looking into.

Registry
Chuck

I have the Autolink AL619 from Autel.

It will read (and clear them once are fixed) the Check Engine Light, ABS, or SRS warning lights.

It will even clear the 3 amigos and it is able to read the codes from the LR3. I have not tried it on the LR4 or RR.

I paid $130 from Amazon
