i thought i was going to wake up with two feet of snow on the ground. didn't they say 2" to 4" per hour starting at midnight? oh well. wouldn't be the first time they got it wrong.

It's just like our hurricane season down here...all hyped up,,panic stations.. And then nothing....it makes people a bit blasť when it comes time to an actual storm..I know they can't predict 100% but enough of the over sensationalized hype by the media?? haven't they ever read about the boy who cried wolf..??

They have to react to the best predictions available ... unless you can cite a better predictive service ...

It's not the predictions that are the problem... It's the hype, I had people down in my office talking about it...it's the panic that ensues, but hey...it sells media and stock off the shelves, so I guess it has some productive uses..

Its marketing. Look how much money they just got tens of millions of people to spend. Stores are sold out down to bare shelves in places. A shot in the arm for the regional economy and sets the mindset for the highways dept to get more money allotted for more equipment and salt they won't use again next year. Its all about being prepared, not the actual event.
