Not as cool as the Africa concept but cool nonetheless.

These Jeeps look amazing in pictures. I have my doubts if they'd be equally impressive in person. Too much molded plastic for me to get excited about.

Why can't LR offer a decent Defender concept that doesn't look like an Ejoke?

Because we're holding on to old dreams and Land Rover has moved on. Their market focus in on the 1%. The new Defender will be for the 1%'er kids that wear little pink whales on their shirts and shorts. I'm perfectly fine with that because the original Defender keeps it's original image and the heritage will live on as well IMO. Jeep owners will still stare at original Defenders, you watch.

I'll never forget the first time I saw little anchors on a pair of shorts. Blew my mind.

But I agree with everything here.

Totally agree. But my point is more about how Jeep is able to produce concepts that are faithful to their heritage & JLR is running away. I don't mind JLR after the 1%, just don't insult us by calling the replacement a Defender. Call it a Tata or Dino...

Interior is full of plastic but exterior of JKs and TJs only the flares are plastic. Well you can be technical and say the hardtop and the softop are of soft material.

As far as I know JKs are the only passenger vehicle that is still in production with two live axles and an actual frame.

After Disco2, I remember when independent suspension was introduced in LRs, I was really disappointed where things were heading.

Imo the wheels came off years ago when the company was sold to BMW. If you've ever worked for a German based company you know what I mean. The whole new D launch I'm sure has hedges built in so the exit can be quick without ungodly financial cost. If it doesn't attract the right buyer willing to upgrade to new JLR products the program will be scrapped quickly.
