Thumbs up NOs on D90 Motor

I am considering installation of a NOs kit on the D90. Anyone had experience or heard of anyone with experience in selecting the right kit?

Will probably set it for minimal boost, but from what I've heard so far it should have a huge impact on the Rover V8 without buring stuff up.

Since yours is an automatic, where are you going to install the "go baby go" button for the Nitrous? Ah, maybe on the t-case shifter then.... LOL

Sorry, just had to do it...

Wicks,

I would be concerned with the GEMS system and how it will react with the NOS. Could be a recipe for disaster if it tries to bring the motor back to factory spec when you hit the NOS.

I'm told the MAF and whatnot won't notice it - or I could pipe in after it as well - it only activates at or near full throttle...

Quite serious. Modern NOs systems are getting extremely popular in Europe to provide passing power to their itty bitty motors over there - even diesels.

Use a big shot - go for it and let us know how it works out

Seriously, you having trouble passing??? I can't imagine a short time frame where I need all that extra power ..... a long period, sure - hauling my fat a** Disco up the hill to Eisenhower tunnel.

Just remember that the later block skirts are cross bolted - and Bob Tulius used a "girdle" - for a reason.

lol Glenn....... BLING

Why would you want that? Wouldn't it be better to install a super charger so you have the extra power constantly?

Are you trying to pass your dad on the 405? Side note: I don't think NOs is smog legal in CA.

The supercharger doesn't provide that much boost, otherwise I would certainly go for that option.

My D probably puts out 5X as much smog as my car - can't make it too much worse with a little fried oxide once in a while.

I can't imagine why you would have trouble with a mild setup... I only wish I could figure a "proper way to use it on those long uphill stretches... Ah like up to the Eisenhower tunnel.. Oh and Vail pass!
Ahh And when the butthead behind me starts to rub my rear bumper..

But only then..

I'm with Phil on this one.....you can't really be serious Wicks. Just swap the block for a bigger one. NOs is for ricers.

Wicks, maybe think of it this way: would Lara have allowed Hilary to bespoil her Tomb Raider Defender with nitrous? It's hard to imagine. Well, maybe in the anime remake....

(On the other hand, there's always Max in the last of the V-8 Interceptors.)

The progressive injector makes it work just like a turbo.
