Are you in the Fairbanks area? I was looking for them in Eagle River last night, but I think my proximity to the mountains was hiding them...

Great photos!

Yes Im in North Pole. I used to only be able to see them around 2am a couple of months ago, but last week they were very bright around 9pm (I took those pictures at that time). However I have not seen any this week due to cloud cover. I was just fortunate to catch those because it did not last very long at all.

A few more shots

These are from the Alaska Range, east of McKinley. The Yanert Glacier and Mt Deborah (around 12,000ft). Enjoy! Ps. Sorry no Defenders in the pics...

I figured you were up in that area or further North...You all get to see them quite a bit more than we do, but they've been pretty visible down here lately too...Just gotta be in the right place at the right time...

Nice flight photos...I'm always sending pictures to my friends and they're always amazed how beautiful they are...It's almost difficult to take a crappy photo up here, isn't it??

Taking a picture of the Northern lights was pretty challenging. I always seemed not to have my camera nearby (or the tripod), and by the time I got to it, the show was over.

Awsome pic's! I saw them back in the mid eighties up in Norway very, very close to the northern border with Russa. For a young Marine from Florida it was (and still is) one of the most crazy, awsome things I have seen with my own eyes.
