NJ Mfg Insurance $$$$

So I called up to add the 88' D90 onto my New Jersey Mfg Insurance policy and they quoted $1,400 a year for full coverage, $15K agreed value...I am registering it as a regular vehicle (not QQ)...who have others used in NJ with good luck and reasonable cost?

Have you looked up the other agreed value insurance threads here? There are a few that get bumped every few months. There are a few good options in them that you can call around and check with if you're not happy with your current coverage. Honestly, $1,400 sounds really high.

Do you need to pay the premium for agreed coverage? Thinking you would be successful in supporting a valuation of $15k through the normal channels.

Having the New Jersey Mfg Insurance policy is like having the black amex card. The amount is also calculated by where you live. If you live in an urban area forget it, it will be high.

They were by far the best run insurance co when I was an ibanker in that space.

However, I would say having Chubb is the insurance equivalent to a black amex. They quoted me 4 times as much for my house insurance as State Farm (don't even get me started about how my current company would not write a policy nor would half a dozen big name other companies).

I have had NJ since I worked for Foo Co in the early 90's... and funny you mention it. ...I have Chubb for the house. ... for the D90 I think one of the specialty companies will be much better. ...

Btw... don't live in an urban area but have a few businesses in Paterson which definitely is clarified as an urban combat zone!

Lol, yeah the stats they used for my Fiance are skewed cause of all the interactions with the rutgers population and new brunswick population.

Chubb set the replacement cost of the house at $6.7m which is probably about right, but no one would rebuild a house like it these days. I would be happy with a check and sell the lots to a developer. You might want to check and see what the replacement value they have is because that is what drove the cost way up.

Received a great quote from American Collectors insurance....$400/yr for 5K miles, or $750 for 7.5K miles including "occasional non collectors use"... all with agreed upon value...
