Next Safety Devices project

Just off the line with Safety Devices. The next project/batch of items we will be working with them on will be 1995-1997 Station Wagon safari cage reproductions. These will be all the bars and brackets to either convert a Euro style 90 to a 1995-1997 Wagon NAS safari cage or all the cage parts for those converting their NAS soft top 90s to NAS style Station Wagon. I'm also going to set it up with them so that the "missing" parts from the POE (1994 Port Of Entry) Wagons will be available as well. So folks won't have to hunt for these parts used anymore.
Stay tuned.

Dead for mail order currently, sorry.

We are doing one for Project #143 so you will be able to see a finished product, but the costs to make them are too high (keeping the material grades we want to keep).

We are working with SD in order to have them make our design. More on that in the future if it all pans out.

I look daily for updates on #143! (although, when I drop off NAS#21, it will probably follow NAS #4's example)

Re: Project 143. We were scheduled to make the rack for it this week, but our steel order got stolen off the truck (the truck got stolen too!), so the steel company had to send it again.
The truck should be done in about 2-3 weeks max, so keep checking.

We have 2 cool 110s coming up after the Black one (or at least I think they are cool). 1 is a Blue Tdi (NAS #4) (never done a blue 5 door before) and a Willow Green Td5, galv. frame, etc (can't recall its NAS #). That one is all painted now and looks great.

So does that mean the disco racks are a dead deal or a delayed deal?

I have not heard from SD if they will make the D2 racks yet. They are thinking about it, but no final word yet.
The Disco 2 racks are not helped by the fact that we only have a few names of folks that want them (unlike the 2:1 ratio we have for Defender 90 racks).

So it all depends on when and if SD goes forward. Working on the 90 Wagon cages has no bearing on when and if SD makes the D2 racks.

Mike is BR110#4 the one you had posted on your site for sale? If so are you going to keep it for short or long term?

Cage ...

Mike,

I might be interested in those Cages, I want to put one on the CrewCab but I want the 90 SW look not the full outer one from the 110. Would it fit directly from a 90 or require some customization.

Let us know how it comes down.

Thanks

Pat

Yup, Arles.
Some shots of the paint work being done on the web page already.

No, BR110 #4 has never been for sale. It was started for a customer, like all our projects, but he ran into hard times and had to back out, so I bought back the project for myself. It still needs to be finished and I'll be keeping it as the family summer fun truck.

A 110 crew cab would require something more like a NAS 110 interior hoop (not a NAS 90 SW interior hoop). The 90 one attaches to the tub, and you don't have that area in a 110 CC. You'd need to make something custom as taking a 90 one and making it fit would be just as much work as making your own, IMO.
Thanks!

Hmmmm ...

In that case could I get just everything but the interior hoop. I really want to maintain the genuine look for the outside and I don't have a problem making my own for the interior but the exterior is another story since I don't have one at hand to duplicate.

Thanks again !

Pat

SD says it is a go!

So we will have 1995-1997 NAS Defender 90 Station Wagon complete cages later this Spring. We will also have all the parts to make POE Wagons complete.

More to follow.
