Next Gen Discovery to have Invisible hood technology.

So we'll see the Discovery concept in NYC in a few days. Had to check the date on this article to be sure it wasn't April 1st.

well, after some hair brain ideas (aka depth finder), that would be badass tech. Using a HUD, it would be pretty reliable tech too. Not much to go wrong. However, the challenge is going to be keeping mud and dust off the cameras. I don't know how they will solve that. Maybe like headlight washer fluid, but on camera lenses underneath? that will come out in field testing.

Would be awesome if this also doubled as a depth finder for water crossing.

On a side note if anyone is going to the unveiling in NYC and needs a date, it was a blast last year when George brought me!

ocular registration, massive distortion correction, also the need for dichroic mirrors causing monochromatic images could cause an issue, I think.

in my opinion: publicity stunt, but not real tech.
