They look good.. I like the option of having the "control pack" mounted on top to keep the seamless integrated look or can be mounted elsewhere.

Why does everything new have to look so space age? The winch is a functional tool, not a museum piece of sculpture.

If Warn had asked me I would have said make more 8274's and don't change a thing.

If they are reasonably fast AND they have made them properly waterproof, then I see it as a good think. I too only use 8274s, but they are very hard to fit on most vehicles. A low mount is usually required.

I agree... but most of the people buying them will be putting them on newer vehicle and probably won't even use them. They want the "off road look."

Plus it will look great on a DC100

If it's lighter, less maintenance and improved performance why not like it?

Don't get me wrong, I like the "old school" look, but if it craps out on me when I need it the most, I'll be considering the darth vader look a bonus .
