New to D-90 Source....

HI,

I wanted to introduce myself. I just bought BACK my black 1995 Defender 90 NAS.

I bought the truck new about 11 years ago. My wife and I loved the truck and many great memories including picnics on the roof rack, off-roading, meeting friends, christmas lights on the car, etc.

When a new job forced me to have a much longer commute, it took 2.5 years, but I finally decided that I should sell the truck. I sold it to one of my best friends. We really missed the D90........but it was OK........because we got to see it once or twice a year and even drive it!

We never thought my friend would sell the truck........but 4 years later.....and a baby on the way.........he decided to sell it.

We were so emotionally attached to the truck, that We decided to buy it back. Friends and family think we are crazy - but I am sure there are some people on this chat page that understand. It now has 85k miles on it, a little more rust, and even more character! We plan to drive it 4-5k miles a year, re-live some old memories, and create some new ones.

I do not think that this forem existed when I had the truck (or at least I did not know about it). I plan to visit here often. What a wealth of friends and knowledge! I hope from time to time I can help someone out on this forem............I know I will need some help over time.......maintaining my 11 year YOUNG Defender!!!!

good story, The only reason why we may think you are crazy is for selling it in the first place, not for buying it back.

I sold my D90 and started to look back at all the great memories I had like the first time my kids went 4 wheelin with me and loving it, my best friend bailing on me while my D was sliding sideway on a down a hill about to fall in a 6' ditch, and off course meeting some of the A-holes on this site Maybe one day I'll buy it back just like you.

Welcome

Welcome Bert!

This makes me sad since I just sold mine...

...Of course, now I'm dead set on building another.
