I also vote for "retarded". They're making the same mistake originally made by Jeep with the Cherokee: high belt line but narrow greenhouse = crap outward visibility and the interior feel of a coffin. Dumb. So it'll sell like gangbusters. Like the shout out to the Defender though in the review.

I actually like it as a concept vehicle. Looks like Mercedes gave it some ground clearance and has decided to keep it off road oriented unlike what Land Rover showed with the DC100.

please.. no
How is this "forward thinking" at all?? purely software masturbation here.

Instead of designers literally playing with their software, why can't they actually design things that are functional and also look good? Like basic 3d design concepts, aesthetics. This thing is F U G L Y !!!!! and like the new FJ, as Talleyrand mentioned, high belt line - crap visibility. It's as if we're at the point where current designers all grew up playng Halo, so their designs all looks like they came from a video game, whose designs came from no actual use and testing. Or is everything these days purely marketing driven right from the get go. . . ?

I know this just a design exercise to flesh out lots of new ideas.. but still... sigh. .

would make a cool toy truck though!

To me, it looks like an H3 with silver paint, fancy wheels and LED headlights.

I kind of like it. I remember when the m class concept came out years ago. It was so beefy looking and cool. Then the production version came out...
