Absolutely. Do I get to use your sledge hammer again?
If you want! Just not on the fiberglass top (unless necessary)

Love the look as a fastback. I love Badger stuff!

If you have the time, I would say go to Roverlab (Trevor Griffiths) in PA and have him go over it and give it some love. (If I could do it again - I would of had mine sent to him first) After leaving mine there for some tlc, mine has never run better.

Thank you, that's very generous. My plan is to drive the P38 down, pick up a uhaul car trailer and bring the D90 home in tow. The truck hasn't been driven much at all over the past few years and I don't want to put it on the road for a 4 hour drive without a complete fluid change and a good once-over

Sorry, I don't follow. Are you saying to just take the top off, but leave the curtain behind the seats?

I did. Three previous owners, no accidents reported, all time spent in VA and FLA and 99.9% of the miles were put on by the first 2 owners.

I am not sure Uhaul will give you the Uhaul to tow back.
There are couple of members here in Chantilly area that will gladly pick you from the metro or Airport.
I am in Sykesville, and will gladly meet you on the way back if you need anything or a beer

Update: I got the truck home today and everything went without a hitch. I decided to drive it back to give it a nice run, which it hadn't done in a few years. To be sure, I asked the seller, Jarrod from Motorcars Washington, (can't say enough good things) to take the truck over to 4x4 Land in Chantilly for a once over. They replaced a questionable water pump, changed the engine oil, tranny fluid, coolant and differential fluids and gave it the green light for the drive to Long Island. After a detour with my son through DC, we headed North and 320 trouble-free miles later we were home.

The ride was great and aside from the drone of the road noise, it was a pleasure to drive. No shakes, no rattles and just a solid great ride. I'm certainly glad to have finally added a D90 to the fleet.

Here are some pics from the day: https://picasaweb.google.com/geoellis65/D90#

Congratulations! Great to hear you had a memorable trip home.

I keep earplugs in my center console for those long rides on the interstates.

Happy to have a 90 owner "around the corner". I'm sure we will be meeting up soon and talk defender stuff!

Congrats George! Do you plan to leave it as a fastback or you going to install the roll cage? Great looking Defender. BB has always been my favorite.

I appreciate it Chad. I do plan on installing the cage and putting a full top on it, but I'll take my time and live with the FB for a while. I like the look, but with a couple of kids who truly want to ride in it, it's more practical to have the full cage.

Hey Mowabb - I'm flattered that you would waste your first post on me. Good luck on your 650 mile drive bringing your new D90 home. I wish I could join you. Post up some pics here when you get the chance.
