New D-90 planned for US market?

Was wondering if there is any concrete information about the D-90 being sold in the US again. I've read only rumors and speculation. Considering buying a 97 but find the asking prices too high for an 8 year old vehicle with use; most nice ones are priced much higher than they were when new. Would wait for a new D-90 if it was coming soon, but it looks to me that it will be many years or maybe never, and if it comes as a high tech highway playtoy that sells for over 50K then I'm not interested. Like the D-90 the way it is, just wish we had the choices, new models and prices other countries have. Who makes these laws anyway, and who do i talk to about changing them?

Cheers

Hey modinator,

Can we institute a ban on talking about this subject anymore? I'd like to get back to 18in wheels and chromed aluminum pedals.

Oh, and a "Will this size tire fit" thread would be nice.

Agreed. Searching is under rated.

I was thinking of maybe merging all the "new Defender threads and making them a sticky. Then when someone new comes along they can read to their hearts content as we have pages of these threads.

You know... I saw this post and was going straight to 'The Suggestion Box' to say the same thing...haha.

There should be a sticky perhaps for 'New D90 Information & Importing'...

Or really, when someone signs up to become a member (even though MOST don't even own a D90... I'm after you RoverChic...lol...j/k) there should be a page that explains why you can't get one here, and how hard it would be to import, and what 'link' to go to in the forum... Then a 'I HAVE READ THE FOLLOWING AND WILL NOT BE A DUMB ASS & POST' check-box....

Just my .02 cents...

Nicholas
