neglected D90 in GA

Anyone recognize this D90? My mechanic emailed this sad sight to me, asking me if I wanted to go in with him a do a restore. Looks pretty bad...real bad in fact. Don't know any details yet, just curious if anyone knew it.

If it's not rusted out then it could be a score! Go check it out.

What part of GA? A white SW with the Swampers seems familiar for some reason

This 90 looks familiar. It looks like the tub side has been previously replaced and the side window has been swapped for one-piece glass. Something tells me it may have a salvage history. Let me dig into my archives.....

A cool find nonetheless and will make a fun project!

yeah, I noticed that riveted side repair too. Rear cross member is shot, and broken windows tells me she probably rotted on the inside. nonetheless, it's a NAS D90...waiting to hear more from him.

I personally didn't see it, only the pictures. Will update more once I hear back.

Yeah, ask your mechanic if he wants to sell it outright.

I have to wonder why he's asking for help to fix the truck??

Sounds to me like the mechanic found it/found out ABOUT it, and doesn't want to tie up all of his own funds "restoring" it, and therefore wants to spread out the investment.

he doesn't have the $$$ to do it...and we've had a long history of Rover maintenance together, mostly after he left managing the stealership.

will post up more pics if we can/when we get into the shop.

Seems like a good candidate to sell to ECR.

I'm sure ECR has their Bothans scouring GA as we speak.

What's the vin plate and clear title worth? Even if it's salvaged? I'd pay $5000 just for the paper, rear plaque and vin plate. If it's a soft top with a good cage, double that. You can keep everything else.

NAS D90 has to be worth 10k for a viable donor.

The truck is at a shop near Blueridge, Ga. It's not owned by the shop but it's been parked there for 6 - 8 years. Several people (including myself) have talked to the shop owner (he doesn't own it) but the owner won't sell it.
Also it is in very rough condition, the more you look the more bad stuff you find. At the least it needs a new frame, lots of new body panels (or a tub), I was told the engine suffered a severe lack of oil issue and is toast, and the interior is trashed.
Does anyone want the details?
Mike

Good point. Its also strange that he didn't take the plaque and put it on his 130. I would think the plaque would follow the VIN.
