Non mechanically inclined friend ran his 109 2.25p without oil and toasted the engine. He needs to find someone (shop) that can help with the repair. Advice sought. Truck is on Nantucket- John

Easy now. You know very well a 2.25p can consumes a whole lot more oil than the average citizen could imagine, assuming they knew it took oil (apparently some people don't know). Besides he's learning the hard way so no need to kick him while he's down. I think mine burns/leaks a 1/2 quart every tank!

I wish I could offer advise for a shop, but there have to be a ton of options within AAA towing distance.

MV autoworks on Martha's vineyard (Vineyard Haven) but he'd have to get it on the ferry to get off Nantucket island. When I was on MV a few weeks back and my Defender 90 broke down they really took care of me.

Foreign Affairs in Madaket is supposed to be good. I have used K&R out by Cisco and if I had another problem I would try Foreign Affairs.
