Need help in Baltimore

I've found what seems to be a decent 95 SWB RRC, but getting any info from the guy on the phone is difficult as English is not his native language. I think he's Nigerian , but so far appears to be kosher.

I was wondering if anybody who lives in the area and is bored, might want to check it out for me. Here's the ad:

http://baltimore.craigslist.org/cto/2284620520.html

I did get him to send me some pics, but they're not great. He was afraid to send the VIN. I've attached them here.

Thanks much!

Chance,

I can't help you locally there, but if it turns out that this Rangie belonged to the late Nigerian Minister of Finance, Amir Yusuf Ahmed, stay clear.

Who knows? The air suspension is intact though (which is what I want. Yes, I'm a glutton for punishment).

Right on, thank you!

One bit of info I did get from him was that it had been sitting for a year and "the brakes need to be bled". My guess is that translates to the ABS light is on. ;/

He mentioned that and ...... you see the tags on the car were made available last September, so that car was moved last september, furthermore, as new tags they will have an expiration date of 09-13 if they were put then, note the expiration date is 04-11 ( next month ) here in MD if you have a vehicle and is not inspected, MVA gives you a HARD TAG valid for 30 days, so my take is, he got the truck recently or is a wholesaler, fake tags...

Hmmm, that's good info. He WAS rather evasive when I asked him how long he'd owned it.

Hey cuz. I told him a friend would like to inspect it for me. No reply. We'll see.

Maybe looking like one to stay away from. Back to searching...

Thank you for the help!

Chance ,

I finally spoke with Sambumba, and it went like this ( WARNING, after few seconds it went downhill pretty fast )

me: Hi, I've contacted you yesterday about the Rover
him: Yes, what do you want?
me: well, could you tell me more about it?
him: like what?
me: To start, does it have clean title on hand, any rust, leaks, lights on..?
him: you expect me to check for that?, I paid $ 6,000 for that truck 1 year ago, and it is fine, like new
me: okay, where are you located?
him: Frankford and BelAir roads ( mind you " this is me ...it is the HOOD ' )
me: when can it be seen?
him: I am driving the car , so lets make an appointment
me: great, any chance we can take it to my mechanic for inspection?
( here comes the bobsledding )
him: What do you take me for, who the hell do you think you are?
me: excuse me
him: I am not your bitch, you want to buy a car asshole, come and see it, I am not here to please you
me: are you done?
him: if you want the car come over, I am not letting you take it anywhere it can't be driven ( note his prior statement )
me: first give me an exact address, I will be right over
him: bitch I will teach you some, you can't own a Range Rover, it is too much for you
me: here is my address, stop by ( gave Toy Store address ) and we can discuss in person how dental records will help your family
him: click ( dead sound )

gets better 2 mins later he called back

me: hello
him: GO BACK TO YOUR COUNTRY BITCH ( click )

Still wiping the coffee out of my windshield

I am having all my friends call him to get an exact address, then hopefully I can stop by to meet Sambumba

hahaha...

You Craigslist Ad-sniping immigrant. I agree with him, you obviously are not worthy to drive, let alone own, a 400 year old RRC. How dare you come to this country and imply this obviously fine American's ad is less than presented. I know I'm certainly convinced from his conversation of its shear awesomeness.

P.S. - Bitch, I'll teach you some

(that was my 2nd fav part LOL)
