Need alternative to PayPal

Just spent 30 mins with PayPal customer service. They clearly think they are the only game in town (hopefully they are not). Latest policy where they hold your funds for up to 21 days when you sell something. Claim it is to protect you. Makes no sense. They won't release funds to you until <3 days after the buyer acknowledges the receipt of your item and does not dispute anything.

The supervisor reviewed my account and said himself it makes no sense and that i am a model customer.

Anyway, looking for a recommended alternative that is well accepted.
Here is their policy: https://cms.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/?c...nts_learn_more

Ebay has a similar policy if you don't meet their criteria.
Thanks.

Do you have a CC on file? I have never had to wait. I can transfer it to my account in 2-3 days or use it to PayPal someone else immediately.

Not sure about the gift thing on an eBay purchase. Maybe I will try that, if I cool down enough to keep my PP account open. Yeah i do, have CC on file and bank account. Sold something last week, no problem at all. Sold a $50 GPS unit this week and they are holding my payment.

Paypal also can't be used to purchase ammo, gun accessories, etc... I avoid them like the plague and only use them when there's no payment alternative AND no other site (or local store) offers the product. I think the last time I used it was for a purchase here on d-90.

My understanding of this - and I could be way off - is that they put this in place a while ago, and it only affected people selling stuff on ebay who had less than 100 positive transactions.

I see and accept PP as a necessary evil.

I used these guys once because a seller insisted on it: www.moneybookers.com. It worked fine.

X2, I love Square for taking CC payments. I don't run a business with it, but it's so much easier than cash when someone needs to pay me for something (Craigslist stuff, carpooling/sharing, etc.)

Square takes 2.75% on each purchase right? I got the hardware but have not used it yet.

That's correct as long as the card is present:
