Question National Rally Moab 2016

Anyone headed out to the National Rally in Moab, this year? We're driving out on the 16 Sept from NC if anyone wants to join the convoy. Bringing both trucks: RRS and D90.

Looking like we are heading out of ATL around the same time. However I'll be trailering.

Are you planning on driving straight through or breaking it up? It'll be myself and my dad, so two drivers...attempting to haul across the US as quickly as possible.

We'll be driving from Fayetteville, NC. Three drivers and two trucks. We are also planning on driving straight through but plan on a stop in Denver. Should take about three days as long as we don't face any Defender issues....

Can't make it this year, but looks like a blast. How many Rovers usually show up?

Depends on if it's in CO or UT. I found more prefer the technical aspects of UT. Trail leaders actually scout the trails in advance and legitimately guide / lead drivers through obstacles. Ground guides all the time too. After wheeling here in NC, you learn to appreciate the clubs out in CO and AZ way more.

Anyone traveling across Texas, via I-20? I am 2 hours east of Dallas, and about 10 minutes off of Interstate (Gladewater), if anyone needs a spot to layover for the night. Plenty of room to camp on the land, if you are more comfortable with that.

I am still working on my schedule, but trying to make it happen this year. Preliminary thoughts are to leave out Friday evening, or Saturday morning.

Lots of camping around the Moab area, well within range of the event.

We're staying at a cabin at the Moab KOA. i'm not sure if there are any left but you can't beat $298 for the entire week.

------ Follow up post added September 3rd, 2016 03:23 PM ------

We're planning on stoping in Nashville, Kansas City, and Denver on the way there.
