Ha! My wife turned in the show and that's the first thing I saw. She got agro when I made her rewind so I could see the truck

My wife watches that show also. I'm in the same room. She says (only having seen the interior of the car the couple is driving), "hey, that dude is driving a defender." I smile with a toothy grin realizing my work is done (ie brainwashing and instilling my obsession upon her)

Saw the show last night. The house turned out really cool. I am going to have to steal the idea of the drawbridge ladder somewhere on my next property.

Man I loathe HGTV. My wife and her mother/sister seem to only watch that channel. Those shows are about as entertaining as watching paint dry.

No shit. I'm stuck watching House Hunters every night. How many f'n times do I have to sit through people making retarded commentary on houses?

Dont get me started on house hunters international. or the property guys. or flip flop.

This is one of the reasons I dread going to my inlaws house. At least everyone is married now. No more Say Yes to the Dress.

No shit.

As for words that really piss me off...- Open Concept
It has been done thousands of times so it isn't a concept anymore. It is an Open Floor Plan.

And Interior Partion Wall. A Partion is by definition an interior wall so in a sense they are saying and Interior Interior Wall. It is like saying soda pop. Say 1 or the other and move on.

These shows are all comedy to my wife and I. Try watching renovation realities. Comedy gold. These people are not living in reality. Not only do these people have no concept on the time it takes to do home improvements, let alone correctly but they shouldn't even be allowed to own a pencil sharpener.

It takes 3 days (maybe 2) to do an entire room in drywall properly and people want to a entire kitchen redone in a week?

And they start every renovation cleaning out the cabinets and eating a complete breakfast. Sometimes they even walk the dogs.

I haven't watched comedy central in years because of these dopes.

I'm pretty amazed at how fast these renovations are done. They must have gobs of money and labor.

Once the cameras stop, does an army roll in?

It's entertainment. There is no way people can do most of these interior renovations in a "couple days"*** 1. Spackle takes time to dry (even if you cheat and use 90 min stuff). It takes three coats!! You can't do every seam at the same time, you have to do all the verticals then all the horizontals once dry. 2 Thinset takes time to dry, so does grout. 3. Paint takes time to dry. 4. The Granite guy needs time to take a template and fabricate the counters. 4. Permits and inspections take time, usually you lose 1/2 a day on inspections. For a kitchen you will have Rough plumbing, Rough framing, Rough Electric when the walls. Before the walls can be sheetrocked you have to do an insulation/firestop inspection (in most areas). 5. Many times there is not enough room for multiple trades to be working at the same time (electric/plumbing/carpenter). 6. Unforseen things happen I can't see a licensed contractor going on TV without permits. *** I do think that the guy on Desperate Landscapes can pull it off in a couple days.
