NAS 97 LE - Roof Rack

Looking at a 97 LE which has the stock roof rack.

Really like the truck but don't like the roof rack as a DD.

Three questions for the field:
- how much will someone pay for the roof rack?
- how much do I have to do post take off to patch holes, etc. ?

- how does this impact resale value? (This will help me understand if I should just remove and store during my hold)

Thanks in advance.

Yes, the stock rack. I would take off all of the ancillary hardware.

As a FYI, Brian at Lrc makes bars that replace the roof basket. This allows you to fit in a standard garage without taking off the extra hardware. For resale, no one wants a le without the full basket so don't get rid of it. Picture attached with Brian's bars installed

Complete racks run $1000-$2000 depending on what type of shape and how original they are and what ppl are willing to pay at that time. I also make blanking plates that go in the stock configuration. Just unbolt the rack and instal plates and be done. As for patch work being aluminum it is hit or miss on cost and average body shops will do shotty work at best, so best thing to do is replace with blanking plates or basket eliminator bars and keep the ladder and cross bars

Here's the original/Wolf Fabrication version of the ladder support bars: http://www.defendersource.com/forum/...ars-44975.html

They run $100 painted. As Wolf is hibernating, contact Lelo Fab (JefHuf here) to order.

I run the Lelo fab basket-delete bars now that I have a garage and couldn't be happier. Best $100 I ever spent on the 90.
