Thumbs up NAS 110 Advice

Anyone want to weigh in on these pics? I am shopping a 110 right now and here are a few pics. I am hoping to get straight answers from the owner, but if anything strikes you, please let me know.

1.) Has anyone else here installed cruise control in there 110? This appears to be the case for this one (additional switch on steering column), so i wanted to know if others had done so, and if there were any potential pitfalls.

2.) Floor paint... It is tought to tell form the pics, but i get the sense that the floors have been repainted to some extent (not reassuring). However, if this looks normal please let me know. That white overspray on the rollcage bracket seems a bit suspect. It is a Land Rover, however, so i leave open the possiblilty that LR just did a shit job when they painted the area. Anyone have "factory overspray" in their 110, or should i continue to assume the worst.

Thanks.

Paul,
Just based on the pictures I am seeing, it looks like a really clean truck.

The floors have been painted, but I don't see that as a big deal. The area right along the outer floor at the bottom of where the door closed is problematic for rusting on these. The new 110's don't have that extra piece of metal on them and the bottom seal is actually on the door bottom itself.
I believe that ECR does this better set up on their restorations as well.

The other area to get some surface rust is the upper capping on the rear tub. Looks like yours was repaired and spot painted to prevent further corrosion.

These do not look like deal breakers to me.

Your main concern is rust in the bulkhead area and the frame.

As far as the cruise-control, ... it was probably something moved from a scraped classic or the like. Never seen it on one of these.

Dendy

That cruise control is a common aftermarket model. It has the distinctive stalk. Overspray and a repainted floor is better than one you can poke your fingers through. If its a SoCal truck, it might be OK. I've got records on the first 260 or so, so if the number is less than that, shoot me a PM and I'll tell you where its been all its life.

I wish my Defender had cruise control. That truck needs some new valve cover gaskets something terrible. I think 110's are way over price and way overrated.

My original paint 110 has no overspray. Looks like you have overspray by the roll cage too which is not original. That paint on the floor looks to be added to cover rust. Better check the battery compartment too.

I really appreciate all the input from you guys. Corrision is the obvious #1 concern. With the touch-up/cover-up paint that is apparent, it really needs to be inspected in person. Indeed, the valve cover is a leaking mess, but the mechanical issues dont put me off at the moment...

I'll report back once i have had the oportunity to see it in person.

Ron, if it ends up in my garage, you're first in line for the cruise control.

Thanks guys!
