My iPhone and my Series....

I have a Stage One / V8 and an iPhone 4. The two do not seem to go together.

When I get in the truck and drive on the highway while listening to Pandora or a stored podcast or other music, the iPhone's volume jumps up and down erratically. I cannot figure out why. The jumps are so severe that it makes it impossible to listen.

Has anyone else run into this? I assume I am getting some sort of interference from something in the truck - but it is a Series so there is very little electronic on it.

The only thing I can assume is the petronix ignition or the coil.

Is it through the headphone jack or through the charging port? If its through the headphone jack you may have a bad AUX wire from the phone.

Josh - I am not sure what you are asking but I think you are asking .... I use a set of ear bud headphones to listen to the iPhone in the Land Rover. I use the same ear buds at my desk and experience no problems but in the truck the volume jumps sporatically up and down with apparently no rhyme or reason. I can actually see the volume slider on the iPhone display jump up and down.

I am not sure about the AUX wire you mention. My truck has no radio so I am not running a wire from the iPhone to the truck radio. This is all within the iPhone. The is no physical connection between the iPhone and the truck - just a spooky ethereal one.

Ron - how can I tell with my plug wires?

Well, I was asking you how you had your iPhone hooked into the radio, but now I can see you're only using headphones. It sounds like your headphones aren't going all the way in, or are easily dislodging. The phone will change the volume for headphones out vs. headphones in, so you'll see the difference as you're seeing. Either that, or your headphones (with the microphone and the remote volume control) is probably all screwed up.

Try new headphones.

Where are you setting your iPhone in the truck?
