Ok wanted to get a thread going that shows battles won or lost where your defender was put to test by another object and passed or failed in order to solicit places of invisibility or exposure. I go first

------ Follow up post added April 28th, 2014 06:17 AM ------

My defender tire carrier vs your Nissan rogue. Defender won rogue lost. I will try to post pics put rogue backed into my tire carrier which squished that poor rogue back door in quite nicely. No mark on tire carrier

D-110 vs. 2012 VW Beetle. I don't have to tell you who came out on top.

This was last year. Some absent-minded yoga-instructor was texting or dialing while tryingto merge onto Rte 128 while traffic was creeping along at 5mph. She litterally drove right across my front corner while I was essentially stopped. I was laying on the hron while I saw it unfolding. She was completely oblivious. She even kept driving and pulling her rear bumper corner off after the initial impact almost as if she wasn't aware that she even hit something.

Of course she tries to suggest that it was my fault. I pointed to an object in the center of my window and said it was a dashcam recording device and politely suggested that lying on an accident report is a felony when insurance companies are involved.
Of course I don't really have a dash cam, but it kept her honest.

Is it terrible to admit that I would have been a lot nicer to her if she was a hottie? I definately had a smug look on my face the entire time while looking her rear quarter in comparison to the light scuffs on my bullbar.

I know, right!? Actually, the scar on the brush bar where you see a bit of rust is an old tree scar.
Only the bumper had some red paint that rubbed on it. I keep a pint of Rustoleum semi-gloss in the toolbox for occassions like this. Great for fixing chips on the bumper, rear crossmember and cage etc.

....and no, I thought I was clear on the fact that she was NOT hot. She was a banged-up troll with a horrible Quincy accent.

Rockware™ bumper vs. Douchebag Off-duty Transit Cop in Douchembile™. He cried like a bitch. Poor baby. All the lanes jog left, he tried to go straight. Unfortunately our trajectories intersected at an inopportune time for the bodywork on his brandy-new looking Chrylser 300. Notice the douchey look on his face and the sandals over socks to complete the picture. He tried to sue through my insurance, and lost.

I can't image being in a yoga pose behind her.
You simply can't "unsee" certain things. That would visually scar me.
Note the Planet Fatness sticker in the window. The gym choice for the habitually uncommitted ('cause its like $15/month)

I few years ago I noticed an entire grill from a toyota attached to the ROW tow ball on my 90, no pictures. I will be sure to document these happenings this summer. I am fairly certainly they had driven their car through it and I hadn't noticed and drove away...

I remember this.
At least on a Defender it's considered "patina"
on anything else it would suck much worse. I think Defenders wear dents and scratches like tattoos, they tell a story.

Still, I'd love to have found a half a finger buried in that dent belonging to the asshole who lit the M-80.

I don't have pics as this happened in '02. I rear ended a Ford Taurus. I got out of the truck (97D90) and looked at the two vehicles. I chuckled to myself how crunched his trunk was and all I did was bend my license plate. A moment later, I stopped chuckling because I realized it was my fault.

Ford Taurus $9100, D90 bent license plate.

Great thread. Wish I had pics of the late-model Ford pickup truck that decided to cut me off, then go 1/2 into the intersection for a left turn, then reverse out of the intersection right back into my SG bumper. Let's just say it was mere scratch on my bumper (literally), but creamed the rightside of the bed of his pickup. I got out, look at my truck, looked at his, he said "oh man, I didn't even see you...my truck is ruined!". I told him to "be more careful next time" and he drove away.

I don't remember who it was, but there is a thread here about an ARB that ate an Escalade. It's been probably 8-10 years ago. Josh should dig that one up!
