Sorry to hear about the job offer retraction. Sadly I don't know anyone in that field. Good luck!

Try glassdoor.com or weworkremotely.com if you're looking for a job. Portland is flooded with designers, but that's not to say you're out of luck. The market is booming here so you'll find something I'm sure.

Good luck with the sale of the house! At least you'll be in a great position starting out. Hope you make a mint! (Not that you couldn't probably already print your own money!) lol

Welcome future Portland resident. I love Portland. It's an awesome city offering almost everything. Not much to add other than a welcome since I am slow to find th post and most have already hit you with the highlights.

Sellwood, Westmoreland are great areas. I live in Eastmoreland and absolutley love the neighborhood. Woodstock is hot, but so is everything inside SE 52nd. And hot is flaming hot. Houses don't sell for asking and be prepared to write a letter and be in completion.

Redfin is awesome for finding homes and is updated very frequently.

If interested in any help looking or advice, let me know.

Anthony

Alaskan 737-8/9. Best way to go. Free beer!

Adidas! Good find. Great corporate culture over there. Easy location to HQ as well.

Good luck with the visit. Need some wheels while you're there? Weather looks good until Monday and my ST could use some exercise. Want to stretch her legs?

Dear Joseph

Jay,

That is a typical response of a Talent Acquisition Team Member when the PIT did not look up to their benchmarks, and that could include you are Over Qualified for their department, shocking but happens :-).

Did you take one?

So step one complete our home here has sold and we have to be out June 3rd kids don't get out of school till the 20th so we will be staying with my parents so the kids can finish school

The second issue is we have not bought a home and if we don't have a place for the movers to drop our stuff around June 7th is has to go into storage - mayflower storage is going to run around $4500 for a month and I would rather not pay that anyone up there know a storage place that does monthly rentals and I'm guessing we would need a fairly large space - if I did public storage I think you have to pay for a few months and I would think I would need 3-5 spaces and could end up being a similar cost?

Anyone with a big barn I can rent?

Can't help you on storage, but congrats on selling the house! We've been though a similar situation and it's a relief to have that step in the process completed.

If you get really in a bind, I might be able to help. We have space, but fairly limited depending on what you would actually be dropping off. Also, we as pretty far our east of town, and we will be out of the country during that time.

It would be our entire home in a moving truck would be professionally packed and all in boxes

Don't know the total cubic feet but would be happy to pay for the storage if it works out

Brian gave me a lead also so I'll keep you posted

Thanks

Offer submitted in Pdx

We worked out staying here until June 20th so hopefully we won't need storage but people complain about SoCal housing market being crazy and I think Portland might be worse right now
