Mounting lights to plastic bumper

It may recall I picked up that Eurovan Camper last fall, it's in much need of some aux lighting. Probably just a set of hella 500's or 1000's.

I know I want to mount them to the bumper. There is no "A" bar etc to mount to, so all I have is the plastic bumper.

Is anyone familiar with any mounting solutions or tricks/tips for something like this?

Many thanks

It there any steel behind the license plate mounting area? If so a small bracket could be fabbed up to use the license plate mounting screws and you could mount your lights to that.

Crafty idea Dave. I have no ventured to take the bumper cover off or really pike around because it's been so FRACKING cold! But my list is long now that spring is in sight.

Do you want whatever you decide to be reversible? I have a couple of ideas, but modifications would be necessary.

And Mondials are awesome! ;-) I have half a mind to find a set in a yard, paint them black, and call them my poor man's Kahns! 18" obviously will never be 20", but defenders were never supposed to roll on dubs! ;-) And my apologies for the sidetrack, but I just can't think about Kahn Defenders without first getting riled like Kirk and thinking of.........

The other half of my mind says "let it be!" They do look flash on my '98 P38 though!

Another idea is to go with an altogether different hella and replace what you have or flush mount into the area of field plastic above the bumper.

Hella makes replacement grilles with lights built in for many VW models. Might be a dead end but worth a look.

Plan B, Hella 1000 or LED lights direct on bumper
