Motw -- ww2 jeep lighter/ashtray

Not sure how many of yall read Man of the World, but this combo really caught my eye. I know there are a lot of skilled craftsmen on here and that I'd pay a good penny if someone wanted to take a stab at a Series or Defender version of this. Probably not $460, but we are in 2014, not 1944.

This is two generations late - you can't smoke at your office desk anymore unless you work from home.

The world has changed. I was outside of my local coffee shop last weekend drinking my coffee, and the 6 or so tables outside all said no smoking on them. One dude was drinking his coffee and his wife was standing a few feet away on the sidewalk smoking and talking to him and some other dude got up from one of the other tables and asked if she'd move because he could smell her smoke. She was OK with it, but her husband (who wasn't smoking) made the good point that she was on the sidewalk! ... Which is the only place left in NYC where you're allowed to smoke. Haha. For the record, the dude who complained was down wind from me and I couldn't smell a thing.

Smoking is cool but spendy; I imagine a few years from now it'll be like Peruvian marching powder; only practice by the social elite behind closed doors.

Buy those parliament lights now and put them in your freezer; 10 years from now you can cash out!

Not a funny as you might think...I was thinking of buying a case vac packing them with oxygen absorbers and sticking them in a closet...of course they'd be Camel smokes!

I was only partially joking. I believe there is active discussion for banning menthol cigarettes and, I imagine, in the next 20 years we will see taxes levied against tobacco so fierce as to make the scenario you are describing actually a reasonable investment.

Prohibition always did favor the bootlegger
