Motor Week NAS 110 Road Test from 1992

Youtube find. Pretty cool clip actually. A 6 min. 30 sec. review of the "1992" Defender 110. Well, we know better than that! For those who haven't seen it, enjoy!

Wow 1992 didn't seem like that long ago for me (I'm 47) until I watched this clip!

Back in 1994 I had a friend in the Massachusetts town I lived in who owned a repair garage and he had a rather wealthy client who raced 911 Porsches that my friend used to work on for him. For a least a year this client let my friend use his 1993 Defender 110 as a family vehicle which I always recalled being surprising about. At that time I was hooked on Defenders and got to drive in it a few times and loved it.

I also knew another person (in the same town surprisingly) who I used to go off roading with. Me in my 1990 Isuzu Trooper and him in his 1995 Defender 90 wagon (I believe it was red and white top). What a great vehicle that was as well.

I ended up moving and never saw those guys or those Defenders again but it left a lasting impression on me.

Flash forward to July 2014 and I purchased my first 1994 Defender 90 ST. The dream of having one of these never went away and I'm so glad I finally got one!

I love the man vs tortoise comparison: Something like "a man may be quicker and more technologically advanced, but a tortoise has been around a long time, and will be after we are gone, and so will the Land Rover Defender."
