Randy,

That is looking great! Are you going to have a Non-NAS gas tank or are you going with the dual tanks? I see your filler opening is the UK version. Also, with that last pic, I can see how much room you got for tire clearance - damn, that's a lot of room!

Are you putting a half cab? That looks real cool, great job!

I will be going with the side tank only. The only thing that sucks about it is that I will have to fab up some kind of skid plate for it. It sits higher then the fram but lower then a slider.. Any ideas anyone?? David?? Oh yes, plenty of room for the new rubbers...35"?? 36"?? I will be doing a full hard top but would like to have a 1/2 cab soft top made for summer. I also have 2 sets of doors. 1/2 doors and full roll up window doors for the truck.

I will trade my valuable advise about the gas tank for your roll up doors straight up. I know I am being generous today!

LOL.... what a guy.. I would hate to talk to you when your not in the mood.... I'm thinking of a plate of some sort from the slider to the frame rail.

That is the best way to do it. Take either 3/8in alluminum or 1/4 in steel and put two creases in it to bolt it from the slider to the frame. It is not hard but if you can have the metal creased to your spects from the metal shop where you by it, it looks much cleaner. Then just bolt it down and you are good to go. Not to bad. Would you like my address to ship those doors or do you still have it from before?

No need. I will deliver them myself.... Do you think it would be a big deal that the bolt headw will be hanging down? Can they get sheered off easily?

That is a consern and they can get sheered off but if you use grade 8 it is amazing how robust they are. I was thinking about puting a 90 degree turn on the frame rail side of the plate in order to bolt it to the side of the frame to keep it out of the way. I really think it will be fine though. Especially if you are running the stock mounting crossmember on the 300 TDi because that hangs down about 1.5 inces below the frame and would hit first. I grinded it all smooth so mine would be more exposed it I kept it.
