It looks like it

No I'm not going. I already started taking the D90 apart and it won't be ready for about 6 months.

6 months! What the hell are you doing, cleaning every single nut and bolt by hand with a Q-tip? Just put your fancy 3-link on there and your 40" tires, and be done with it.

The D90 needs work. Every single bolt is rusted and the bulkhead to. I'm taking the body off and spraying it with line-x on the bottom and inside. I will also have it painted Bonnati Gray. The interior needs work to. The only solid piece in there is the rear seat and cargo mat, everything else needs work. I will also line-x the frame. Replace both axles housing, auto conversion (bad 2nd synchro), the T case needs to be re-sealed, replace brake lines, the entire exhaust system, engine needs few gaskets, belts, hoses, pump, mounts and MAF. The rear x member may need to be replaced. Brakes are in bad shape; have to replace every single bushing, ball joints and all. I will also be fabricating my own roll cage, bumpers, sliders, shock mounts, and some other stuff. Letís not count the toy conversion (maybe), wheels, tires, and the other little stuff. Do you think I can get it done in 6 months alone?

Let me say this one more time. I HAVE my own WELDER. However, if you want to give me hand sometimes taking the 90 apart you are more than welcome

Yes Sir I do. How about we hook up this weekend? MJ? I'll buy you guys beer and drive you home. How does that sound?

Lets see... 10 hours a day X 30 days a month = 300 hours a month X 6 months = 1800 hours

You can get a lot done in 1800 hours, so maybe.

Let me ask you this... if the truck needs so much work, why didn't you just keep your old one and sell off the parts you were no longer going to use? Considering you are taking it completely apart and then re-assembling it. So do you think you'll have it ready for the Rally next year?

10 hours a day? Are you crazy? I have a job and two kids so I'm lucky if I can get those 10 hours a week. Plus ski season is around the corner so I think I will be putting about 4-5 hours a week. My plan is to finish this truck sometime in May or June. The money is there but not the time.

I sold the old one b/c I wanted it gone for some reasons.

Saw Yousef's truck tonight I think a good nickname is "SWAMP THING"

Actually it was not that bad, I have seen alot worse. My favorite was the bottle opener bolted to the rear tub! It actually looks like a fun project.

Yousef are you going to ski this year?

Mike

Fork this thread

I think we should fork this thread into.... "What's new, not new, rusted, not rusted with Yousef's new ride!" Subtitled with a calculation and poll of how long it'll take!

Yousef... when you working on it. I need to do a few things up here but I'd love to see it. AND most importantly use that bottle opener for all the beers we're going to need, while workin on it!

JP-
sounds good. cell is 303-710-3096. I'm staying at Moab Valley Inn Friday and Saturday nights. I'll be on the road from san diego all day friday (with cell) and plan to pull into Moab around 8-9pm friday night.

Rusty nail on saturday sounds like a good plan to me ... especially if we just had the 3 of us. I'd also like to wheel something short like hell's revenge sunday morning if you're up for it.

talk with you friday.

MJ, I normally work on it on the weekends. Let me know if you want to help. The pizza and beer is on me

Careful Mike J! First he will make you work on his 90, them he'll have you watching your kids, and after that you'll end up helping him on some trail spotting and end up messing up big time and have to winch a truck downhill

First, you are a kid magnet. At the 04 National rally all the kids went to you, we had no power over this (right Keith?). Second you were spotting your EC homies at the 05 rally, you choose this not me. Third, it's not my fault that David M D90 is top heavy and you have no idea how to spot him, again not my fault.

It all depends on when you will be around. I have to be in LA early, but will be coming back early too. It would be good to meet you, especially since I have some new cool crap to show you. But if you can't, it's cool.
