MD antique plates for defender?

Anyone in MD use this form http://www.mva.maryland.gov/_resources/docs/VR-188.pdf to use their UK plates as their primary vehicle tags?

I mean if you have a 25 year old vehicle this would be substantial IMO just wondering if anyone had done it

I'm interested in the answer as well. I had assumed that the form applied to using old Maryland plates but I've never tried it either way.

yeah it completely doesn't specify, you just need to keep your actual plates in the vehicle as best I can tell

I think the plates have to have been issued by Maryland.

I may be wrong but its doesn't mean you can use any type of license plate, it means the state issues you a plate with historic status. I have these plates, it looks like a a regular state license plate but says historic at the bottom. The 25 year status is nice though, don't need any inspections, emissions tests, etc.

I am reading it as you need your regular historic plates issued from the DMV and then if you have a year appropriate antique plate for the vehicle (i.e. Uk plates for specific reg years) you can fill out this form and amend an additional plate number to the vehicle.

You just need to keep your historic plates on hand in case you get stopped by the authorities so they can verify they are not in fact being used on another vehicle
