matte/satin black roof

Anyone have a photo of a defender with a contrasting matte black roof?

My friend is doing a build overseas and looking for a photo.

Closest I can find is this:

Interesting. Curious to see a photo. I think the color of the roof now is corris grey.

Didn't that shop down in FL that was flipping Japanese/Dubai defenders with some terrible paint jobs do one with a matte roof? Does the orange and black one that is in NYC have matte? Black and matte black are pretty similar...just dull it in photoshop if you are really having trouble imagining one by looking at the other?

Which shop in FL?

The orange one I just saw the other day...gloss.

I'm advising my friend on this one so trying to be thorough. The matte silver looks nice actually.

I don't remember at this point. I think they still put some up on eBay from time to time, but not as crazy as they were painted in the past. They did the orange one, painted a white 90 completely matte black, and I think they were also the ones who painted a NAS 110 neon green.

I'm going with matte gray as my recommendation.

My truck is going to the shop for all around hole patching and having the roof painted black. If I get the matte bug I'll just spray a matt clear rubber dip spray on it.

How about a paint replacement film aka vinyl wrap material. We have done this in our shop (signs/vehicle wraps) many times on high-end vehicles. Carbon fiber is a favorite for roofs but comes in a myriad of colors and finishes. The beauty of it is that it's more forgiving and durable than paint, it's a fraction of the cost plus you can change it up or go back to the original finish in no time. The paint underneath is protected. We had a GTR come in to change the color from white to blue!

will post a photo once he finishes paint. They are trying to see if they can get a matte gray. He said the paint shop he is using was able to get a Mercedes paint code for the color.
