I agree. It's a beautiful ending.

Sad day on many fronts. Wonderful run.
All 450 have been moved to other positions in manufacturing, or early retirement for some close to that point.

It's the biggest plot twist since Darth Vader told Luke Skywalker "I am your father."!
I'm feeling more like this right now. Seems great at the time, but after a while, you realize the whole situation in the end is F'd up.

Yeah, that part happened before we learned that Darth Vader was Luke's father, or that Luke & Leia were brother and sister for that matter. I'd prefer to equate the scene you're referencing with Land Rover's unveiling of the DC100 concept. They were both bold moves meant to draw a reaction from onlookers, but ultimately they were both giant steps in the wrong direction that left us all cringing........

Looks like HUE 166 was there.

Yup, we met a guy who worked on one of the other lines when over there recently and he said the same. They have plenty of work for them all, and the other lines run around the clock, not just during the day like the defender line did.

I meant to share this yesterday, but I got sidetracked with other matters. My client and now good friend gave me this awesome beer glass on Friday night when we met up at LRC Customs to toast the last Defender rolling off the line at Solihull! He did the engraving himself and I just had to show it off! Just too cool!

I'd wager that he could probably make some more if any of y'all wanted one!

We have to gauge interest on these glasses, the issue that our buddy used Land Rovers logo. There isn't an issue for our glasses because they where gifts. But when you introduce cash it becomes an issue, if there is enough interest and we can get permission from Land Rover he'll be happy to do a run. Will will be the one asking for permission if there are only a few they will run around $20 a pc, but if we can get 100 or more we could cut the cost by more then half. We are gonna set up an email to gauge interest, and I'll start another thread as well as to not clutter this one.

Come on Brian, you know LR doesn't mind if we use their name or logo- just a bunch of loyal enthusiast!! They would never ask one to stop or desist use of the Oval...
