I am a Mac user for 20 years now, won't change at all.
IMO the worst Mac is 10 times better then the best PC .

i have a macbook but don't really see much of a difference from pc., I think the mac looks cooler and has a better interface (and is more expensive) but I don't really see a huge difference.. I guess I'm a car guy not a mac one.

Also, the Rover and the Mac don't get along well. The RAVE CD I found doesn't work on the OS and when I tried to burn it, it got stuck in the drive (still is in there).

Apple does have good customer service though.

Have 3 Macs now - no problem. Love them. This really seems to be a love hate page. My only problem is that I am an architect - and there is no version of Autocad for the Mac. I have to use the Parallels thing to run the intel process and deal with windows - for Autocad only. Everything else I do with the Mac.

Chris - On I-photo - just move the pictures to the trash - then empty the trash if you want to get something out of there. If you don't want 'some' pictures in I-photo, store them in another file. I think that works..........

That almost seems strange considering all the hype around apple's visual/audio and all the rendering etc. that people do in Acad. I wonder if they'll develop a version in the next few years now that apples are so much more popular now than several years ago when it seemed only schools and kids had them.

BTW, I'm with Keith, lets see some pics!

Andrew - I agree with you about Autocad. I think the problem is that Apple still has only about 5% of the business world. So I think it is not worth it for Autocadd to make versions for so few Architecture firms. I actually don't know if any engineering firms, or architecture firms that have Apples.

I get away with it because I am off on my own........

I do hope all this changes over time - with so many college kids with macs. I know many Architects that say they would switch if Autocadd did a mac version. Especially smaller firms.

I would love to get rid of the PC side of my computer for good. I am just waiting for a Mac Version.

For now what I am doing is working........Flagg

MacBook and Mac Mini here. MacBook is primary workhorse and runs VmWare for those couple of Winblows programs I have to use. Mac Mini is my home NAS server (1TB) serving up music and video. It's also connected to a big screen via DVI, recording OTA HD and analog cable, and then post-processing to strip commercials. It also serves up my (ripped) DVD collection. I haven't turned on the Dell POS in my office in over a year...

Check out VmWare (or Parallels). With it, there's no reason to have to turn on a PC again.

as an architect i use only macs. I have archicad, which works on mac/pc and use bootcamp to run CAD when needed. In Miami, i know of several firms using only macs, though boutique firms with highly specialized work. From what I read, there my be some hope for mac based autocad....fingers crossed. The biggest problem I see is Revit for Mac...but then again, im not a computer guy, when I draft, its by hand like the dinosaurs did. my macs are for 3d and all the visually cool fun stuff

sorry to go off course for a bit...

go mac!
