That looks nothing like the concept . . .

I don't trust the accuracy of those pictures.

Well they said its wearing an LR2 body geez, give it some time you guys might like the final results. Remember all that matters is that the chicks like it so we can get inside their vag.

Sorry I think the concept vehicle is hideous. Ive got no interest in driving a clorox bottle with a green oval on it.

I think they got it all wrong. That is not the LRX but an LR 2.5

I know we can debate this point all day, but everything about land rover is changing.

The "cars" are becoming Metro-Sexual in every way. Granted, I have seen some LR3's that are killer trucks (kitted out and all) - (See Dale Knepp's LR3), but for the most part, ... if you walk around the dealership right now, everything screams Blvd Cruiser.

Land Rover has been pressuring the dealerships to loose all the camping and expedition gear and go all grey (ghey) and white. Luckily there are dealerships like Land Rover Nashville, and Roaring Fork that are refusing to assimilate.

If you pick up the gear catalog this year and look at the clothing items and accessories, they are all button up dress shirts, cashmere sweaters, and such. No safari shirts, etc.

Anyway, I think it will be those of us that hold dear the history of the marque and the lifestyle it stood for that will continue to enjoy it with our older trucks and pursuits of the lifestyle for which it once stood for.

Cars and Trucks in general these days have all lost character. When I was a young kid, you could tell what car you were traveling behind simply by looking at the tail lights. Today, you may be behind a ford taurus, ... or it could be a Jag. You just can't tell anymore.
With the intro of the LRX, I feel like LR will just become one more assimilated model and will have lost that rugged, outdoor, SUV that we have come to "worship".

Too bad.

Feel free to bash my comments ... you can't hurt my feeling. (I only have one left!)

D

You're right.

LR is douching out on us and they don't care. There are more douchbags than enthusiasts and they are following the money.

A crumb now and then would be nice; but I believe that LRNA's attitude to us is "Fuck 'em".

Hi chaps the spy pics are of the LRX at the nurburg ring for chassis and running gear checks, in the EU landrover need a car with good fuel mileage.
However the owners of LR are Tata I would be very surprised if the defender did not end up as a CKD or a wholy made car in the indian territories when it finally fails EU approval or becomes too expensive to build in the UK.
so there may be hope for the hardcore base truck.

regards

Gren
