LR's Farewell to Defender videos....

Land Rover "A year of celebration of Defender begins with an iconic 1km silhouette carved in to the sands of Red Wharf Bay, UK. The beach where Land Rover's journey began in 1947."

Well, I'm super bummed that LR actually went through with it.

Hopefully the parts manufacturers will keep pumping out parts for the next 10 years.

Is it just me or do the wheels on that orange Adventure Edition look a lot like wheels on the Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon

It would have been cool if one of these special editions had a galvy frame

Video bumbed me out, but it was a great finally. Stupid euro pedestrians. I blame them. If a Defender hit those 3 Parisian jihadis, they'd be dead and the Rover would have been the hero. If whatever Gerry comes up with for the new Defender hits them, they'll probably be cushioned on the bonnet and served a cup of chai as they comfortably roll over the other side with their AK47's blasting away through the whole thing.

They either have a vehicle that at least LOOKS like the old Defender in a lot of ways. Or everyone at LR is an idiot.

It's amazing that Jeep can build the "same" vehicle all these years and be a best seller, yet LR can't even compete because apparently they have not enough imagination to perpetuate one of the most stimulating vehicles ever created.

This one looks like the 50th anniversary heritage defender they did in 1998 in a similar light green. I have a friend that owned one in the UK

Shameless Plug

It's not far from what I am trying to achieve with my grill and surround designs except mine are aluminum not painted plastic and my green is darker, closer to a Balmoral Green than this pastel business. Taking orders now!

I hope they put as much thought into the new Rover a they do into these useless videos. Its like everyone is sad to see it go, yet ………. they're just letting it go.

X1000 --> "Jeep can do it why not Rover"?

It will be interesting to watch how cooperative LR will be with Defender parts manufacturers. Would be cool to see them provide an open source platform similar to the success we've seen in technology.

Really cool. Sad to see them end this iconic vehicle. The Heritage Edition is by far my favorite. Iíll be 57 and nearing retirement when this can be imported into the US, so maybe I can get my wife to go ahead and line one of these up for me.
