It is time to dump that POS. I'll take it off your hands for $30k.

Does the 05 LR3 count too, or are there some bugs in the 05 that were fixed for 06? I only ask because there is one for sale down the street.... and it might be calling my name. It does have a v8.

This cracks me up, the lower control arms on my Benz rusted out, the dealer tech showed me the car on a lift and pointed it out to me, and said it was because of shoddy maintenance, i.e., nobody ever cleared out the drain holes in them. I reminded him that he was literally the only person to ever service my vehicle since I purchased it back in 2001. What a dipshit...

Took it to Gustavo's knuckleheads for the repair...paid 1/2 the dealer's proposed cost for that and several other not insignificant items.

Yes 05 had rear suspension issues causing premature wear on tires. I would hope that by now that was adressed during maintenance.

I test drove it and the suspension fault light came on. I don't have an lr3 license for my hawkeye yet, so I don't know what the issue was. Of course it might have gotten angry that I tried driving 45 with the thing in rock crawl mode.

Let's face it, they just want to make money off of you. I did the brakes and rotors on my LR4 with all genuine parts before taking it in for it's 30k service (about 300 miles on them), and they listed my brakes as half worn on the report. I didn't have the energy to give them a piece of my mind about it, but an untrained monkey could have seen they were brand new without any effort.

We own a 06 LR3 and we are really pleased with it. Its my wife's car but i drive it to and really enjoy it. Specially if you drive a 300 tdi defender all day long.
Before the LR3 we owned a touareg. We thought the german engineering would be bullet proof. Boy where we wrong. At some point the camshaft solenoid broke. To replace it they had to drop the engine to get to it. Total bill $5000 in labour ( 40 hours!). So the LR3 is not that bad after all
