LR3 blend motor noise

Anyone notice the blend motor noise when turning on AC or heat? Mine sounds like it's coming from passenger side floor. Everything works as should, just sounds like a windshield wiper on a dry window for about 1 second.
Will this fail before any action is needed?

I'd like to know too. Mine has been doing this for three years.

Also have it. But I was told it's just because the LR3 likes me so much it's taken up my enthusiasm for farting.

Ah, the Rude Noise Generator. If your creative, you can release the glove box limit straps, put a little lube on your finger tip and snake your arm/hand up to the linkage. The noise comes from a linkage follower along a guide.

Mine did that. Dealership removed the steering wheel & dash top, lubed whatever it was, noise went away.

Good luck!

Just informed by a LR tech that it's an hour labor to lube part by dealer and there is a Technical Service Bulletin.

Basically you need to remove the right side vent and the upper glove box insert. You have to really yank the shit out of it to get it to come loose. Then look back in the dash and you should see a little white lever. It will be more noticeable if you cycle the recirc so you can see the door move. Then take some grease, doesn't matter what kind, and smear it all over the lever. It will take 20-30 cycles before it actually becomes quiet.

FWIW, the warranty time is .20 hours, so you might be able to get it done for even less.

I did this to my previous lr3. I had best luck when I ignored the exact details of the TSB. I think it said to turn the hvac off after selecting recirc or fresh or whatever. It's wrong. At least on mine when I selected off it moved to where I couldn't grease it as well. So I tried it in multiple positions until I could grease it enough to be quiet.
