LR3 battery terminal clamps

What a bs design! LR over engineered something as simple as a battery post clamp.
I spent way to much time getting the d@mn thing to tighten.
Push posh - fiddle sticks! Got to love British engineering!!!

Odd, I replaced my battery yesterday & had no issues-found them rather easy to manipulate

I agree. Just like any battery clamp, you need to push the clamp all the way down, they are tapered posts. Other than that, they work just fine. And they are pretty much like the D2 style.

It amazes me how many people don't know that battery posts are tapered.

Cast lead/zinc battery terminals are useless. They just stretch and then don't fit. Much prefer the cast bronze marine terminals that are tinned.

My clamps were hosed.
I'd rather it be a simple cross bolt than a tapered nut providing the clamp force.
Anyway, it's fixed...

I've been using mil-spec terminals since the 70's and never needed to replace one I've installed. But I always use a proper wrench on them and never over-tighten.

I just put those terminals on my 110. Very pleased.
