LR3 a/c question?

A/C was working fine one day, blowing hot air the next.

The A/C compressor appears to be engaged regardless of the a/c being turned on/off, not disengaging.

I don't have a way to capture the refrigerant so if it's something that is going to require evacuating the system I'll need to take it to get repaired. But before dropping it off does anyone have any suggestions on what it could be? Anyone know of a good a/c shop in NOVA?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Something easy to try is cleaning the in car temperature aspitator-the little grill near the key, in the dash. I frequently see them covered in regular old dust, and in my own Rovers, dog hair. CRC makes an aerosol electronic cleaner that one can use to rinse off the temp bulb

I'll give that a shot. Never occurred to me that needed to be cleaned.
