LR2 rear diff

Anyone heard of issues with an LR2 rear diff? Have a friend that has one with 56k on the truck and had never been off road. Dealer is telling her it went bad and wants a ridiculous amount to fix it. She is in Rochester anyone know of a good mechanic or rover shop in that area?

My mom had the last gen range rover. She's 70 years old and has only driven to the corner store and back.. was turning into our driveway, which is uphill, and exploded the front diff and one of the axles. So shit happens.

Sometimes you will feel too much play at the flange of the input shaft.

Then both of the two tapered bearings are gone bye bye.

A kit is available for this issue, including both of the bearings, flange, seal and bolt.
To get it fixed you have to remove the differential out of the axle!
The bearings have to be tensioned by a messured distance!

This spanner or something like this is to be used to reassemble the big wheel.
