They have started to appreciate already if you compare their prices to just 5 years ago. They just bought that 1987 - there was some info on it on this forum.

I see the Astro van in the background in a few shots but not Dan's truck - wonder if they were trying not to get the Defenders in across the street!!

It was great meeting you guys last Sunday, and seeing all the Defenders parked out front. What was cool was that we had our rigs between the demo course and the restaurant that LR had set up its hospitality spread in. So people were passing by our Ds all day long and coming up to chat. Was intrigued to hear from Dan about the place in NJ where folks go wheeling - Pine something?

Ran into Steve Hoare there also, later in the day, who now writes for LROI and was there I guess to cover the event. He used to write for LRM a few years ago ...

Good fun, great to see you all there.

Cheers,
John

The Pine Barrens. Good time. Although I always end up on a motorcycle trail that is too narrow for the truck.

Went to Autoshow yesterday with my daughter. Camel Trophy disco is not there instead of 87 RRC in celebration of 25 years of LR in the US.

That would be cool but before I do any wheeling I have to replace my tires.. East African roads chewed the hell out of my TRs ...

Besides, I managed to overheat my Lotus a couple of days ago - doing some "spirited driving" north of NYC - so that is in the shop now, crossing my fingers that I haven't toasted the engine. So the line-up at my wallet is Lotus engine rebuild (hopefully not) first, fixing wonky air suspension on LR3 second, new tires for 110 third ...

Second mortgage fourth ....

Cheers,
John
