Hey Guys,

I'm looking for a good Defender mechanic around my Brooklyn area? Any one know anybody?

Yes. New client bought a 110 from me and is looking for a shop that can work on it for him in the future.

Also he is looking to meet other Defender owners in the area if any one is still doing the monthly meet ups down that way.

There are a bunch of old school west indian guys on Atlantic ave but I can't vouch for any one in particular.
But literally 10 minutes north in Queens (Long Island City) is Felix who many here have used and who fixed my Range in a second and does work on Defenders all the time.
Hopefully he won't mind my giving out his info

Excellent, good prices, and knowledgeable.
What part of Brooklyn is your client?

I live in Brooklyn and have been through a lot of mechanics for my rrc's and disco 1's so I've accumulated a roster over the years. I use a guy in red hook, Changs auto; very reasonable, works on defenders, and rovers all the time, but is usually slammed so can be slow. There's bay diagnostic in sheepshead bay who are known to be solid, but for me its a schlep; maybe closer to your guy. There is also Dollar Dan's in Brooklyn Heights; expensive but good with old school rovers. I would go to Changs if your guy isn't in a hurry. Last time I was there Wil, the owner saved me about a grand on repairs I was quoted elsewhere. I referred another board member with an older 110 to him and while it took him a while to get the work done, he did a ton of work on it, and saved that member a bundle, and the member was happy with quality of it. Good dude. Tell him Benny sent you. 917 443 9641

I'm assuming it's the guy with the FFR and the Gwagon who just joined, right? There are a ton of BK owners on here. Just steer him here and tell him to subscribe to the thread to receive notifications the next time we put something together.

Won't be easy for him at a meetup ... but if he sends in a $100 to start the bar tab he's welcome in exchange for the 'free' advice.

Mechanics are like Doctors with a good bedside manner .... doesn't matter if they fix anything as long as they make you feel better!

Would it be too much to ask your client to introduce themselves or will they be sending you to meetup in there place?

He just asked me to find a mechanic. He is pretty busy and asked me to do the leg work for him.

I've passed it all on. What he does with it is up to him.

Not to hijack too much but you're a cool guy (without having met you). I'm usually turning my mechanics or dealers on to this site vs them finding me stuff online.
