Don't have much to add to the above. Definitely listen for differential whine. Check the cowl plastic/rubber for warping and replace it if it is separated from the windshield. I would pull the front sunroof drains and blow some air through them to make sure they are clear. Same thing with the A/C drains. Transmission fluid should be changed at ~100K, which is a bit of a job.

I'm at about 30K on my General Grabbers on my 2006 and, while they still have plenty of tread left, I do plan to replace them for the winter - given what the car is, I'm pretty happy with that tread life.

The truck is approaching 125K. Best vehicle I've ever owned. Plan to drive it until the wheels fall off and then buy another.

I'm not aware of any particular issues with the 05s other than the differentials, which can be an issue for all of the early year trucks.

2006 with 112k miles asking $6,900 in Chicago. I have no connection to the seller.

Awhile back I was thinking of jumping into either a 3 or 4 and at the time there were tons in Texas. I thought it would be fun to line up 4-5 and fly down to Dallas and go see them over a weekend. The prices in that area seemed very reasonable.

I'm surprised it lasted a full 8 years!

We have an 05 that we bought pre-owned in 05. Been a solid car other than the wear and tear items. Recently needed to replace the locking actuator in the rear diff but was an easy and inexpensive job. I highly recommend you buy the diagnostic software, will easily pay for itself in the long run.

What issues did you experience that benefited from the software? Any that could leave you stranded without that tool?

I know with the IID I've troubleshot codes (which you could do with any OBD II reader of course) but more importantly you can update software modules on the truck-like the transmission, car config, etc. That is $ not going to a dealer. Likewise the IID can, from what I've seen, program keys and that functionality would more or less nearly pay for it by itself for any that have dealt with a broken, dead, or missing LR3 key.

Personally I love it for the 3 flash update and the clock in dash

Nothing that has had me stranded but it's helped clear a few faults and identifying a suspension and locking diff issue.
