Lonely in El Paso, TX.....

Hey Guys,

I just moved to El Paso, TX with my wife and kids. I am stationed at Ft. Bliss and in the U.S. Army. Is there anyone out there near-by me here in El Paso??? My hardcore off-road days are over but have a very nice, tricked out Defender-90 that would truly appreciate some company to have a beer with every now and again.....hell, even if you are passing through El Paso, here look me up (send me a PM) and we can have a beer or two at my place! Anyway....would love to hear from another enthusiast.
Cheers, Race

Well, if you need to build or design something, I have a cousin with an architectural firm there .

Nice! Now maybe I'll see a Rover there when I visit. There's definitely a dearth of Rovers there. That's truck country! Grew up there; wouldn't move back. Most of my family is still there though.

Defender watch...

I believe the SCARR is no longer. Last post I saw on their web was 2008. I cannot seem to reach anyone on it either. I have been here only a week but seen only 3 Dicoveries, and an LR3. Keeping my eyes peeled for another Defender or even a Series driver. No local Land Rover Dealer so no way to even "stakeout" for one.

Oh well, I guess that makes me the "Lone Ranger" here in El Paso.

I'll look 'ya up next time I'm down there. Planning on a Labor Day visit, but it'll probably be only as far South as Cloudcroft. Meeting the family at the cabin saves me a few hours of driving time. Plus, my Aunt and Uncle are there.

I met my Dad and Brother-in-law down in Carrizozo for an Elk hunt a few months back. Drove the 110, and people thought I was from another planet!

Enjoy the Mexican food!

I'll be at Bliss 22-24 AUG. Drop me a PM for dinner. I always stay at the Holiday Inn at I10 for the free drinks and Starbucks next door.

There used to be a Series guy named Smokey on Guns & Rovers. I haven't seen any news from him for a while, but he was publisher (?) of the local newspaper in Pecos.

Saw a beautiful ROW 110 in green/white roof near UTEP this weekend. Bumping this thread back up, wondering if there are any Roverheads around here. Ive seen a few built Discos and lots of Rovers in general. Seems as though everyone goes to Albuquerque or Tucson for service...4 hours away. Jag dealer in town, yet no LR dealer for sales or warranty work. Strange.
