Line on a good engraver

Lots of folks with all sorts of skills and contacts with artisans... Worth asking:

I am trying to find a shop that can engrave or etch a gift. I am attempting to have an M7 Bayonet engraved with a name and rank for a close friend who just got selected for Sergeant Major. The knife is 1095 carbon steel and is parkerized. I'd like the engraving bold enough that the knife in a stand can be used as a desk name-plate.

Anyone have any leads or recommendations?

Big Secret in Richmond will do essentially anything with a laser. If that is the kind you are looking for.

Dave, if you want to send it to me I can have Darren the gentleman who did all the defender of defender badges do it for you. He does great work and has come through for me on several occasions.

Laser engraving is the way to go. That is how I do NFA stuff and when I tattoo any guns. The detail is much cleaner than a rotary engraver.

Is he in NC or do you ship it off? I'm headed down there next week and will be around a while!

Thanks for all the great input, btw

Dave,

Yes, Darren lives just down the road from me. He was/is one of my clients. Maybe we can arrange to meet up while you're down.
