Talking LHD MudUK Tunnel Trays are ready!

Sharing some good news for others that might be interested. I sent an inquiry a few months ago to the MudUK staff on interest in their tunnel tray(http://www.mudstuff.co.uk/MUDTunnelTray.html) , which looked like a really good addition for manual tranny defenders. Unfortunately, at the time, they were only available for RHD Defenders, as the position of the parking brake handle would interfere with the RHD tray on LHD vehicles. They put me on their notification list, and a few months later, I get good news. They are ready for release!

I have attached the LHD version pics they sent me, for all of your benefit. I have also sent an FYI to EE, who is a Mud UK importer, and might get better pricing on shipping.

Direct MudUK prices listed as:
Price is 40.00 Inc VAT
Price is 34.04 ex VAT

I like how they incorporate extra 12v sockets if needed. I assume there shouldn't be any fitting issues when using it with a tuffy box...

Thanks Mark! -
I saw these a while back as well and was dissappointed they didn't offer it in LHD. Is there any interest in a group buy? I wonder if we would get a price break and/or save on shipping. Mark, let us know if you hear from EE on availability. If there is any interest in a group buy I would be happy to make the calls & coordinate.

For those who were interested in some additional photos of how it looks installed (I was), here is a link to Mud's page on it.

I am definitely going to get one. MudUk was going to talk to John at EE tonight, as they have a large shipment going out next week, but was uncertain if John would be interested. EE always has very fair pricing from what I've seen, so the quickest way to get one at a fair price is for everyone to email EE and ask about them to show interest. Otherwise, I'm definitely in on the group buy.

Neil,
It comes with 2 drink holders, and you can have them add, or add yourself, cigar lighter sockets to the center rim as seen in the RHD version website pictures.

Pretty sure you "have to have" and r380 fiberglass tunnel cover for these to fit since its a pressure fit to the lip on that cover.

That's an interesting point. I looked up the parts catalog, and there are several different tunnels:

LT85 = MUC4319
LT77 = ALR1757
R380 = ALR7005
300Tdi/TD5 = ADF710030

The NAS Defenders came with the ALR1757 and ALR7005, and it seems that this tray may have been made for the ADF10030. I wonder if it's too different to work. I'd be interested if it would fit on the ALR1757 tunnel.

Guys, according to the MUD link in the original post it would appear that it will work for the R380 and the 300Tdi/TD5's. No mention of the LT77's or LT 85's so I am guessing they will not work on those.

They will NOT work with an LT77 or LT85 tunnel.

can you use an R380 cover with a LT77 ? Anyone know ?
I know the lip on the seat box is a bit different but will the cover fit otherwise ?

John at EE emailed me yesterday saying they were getting a sample in, and IF he liked it, they would stock it. Not sure on timing. Take it for what it's worth. I'd say give it a couple weeks, and if nothing then group buy. But I'll go with the flow.

OK, folks, here's an update for you. EE has the tunnel tray sample, but they didn't have anyone with a 5 speed to test it and photograph it for them (John's D is a 97'). So, the happy solution was for me to buy the sample

It's on it's way to me, and when I get it, I'll be posting my impressions and installed pictures here, as well as sending them to EE. Stay tuned!
