I see nothing but East Coast plates here in Breckenridge- must be a sign of your snow conditions out there.

Snowed 12" here today and predicting another storm for next Thursday.

I am soooo sick of snow

About 4.5 - 5 ft over the last 3 weeks... good thing I have a plow or I would be stuck here till spring

If it snows more than a few inches next week I am moving to somewhere

I'd be happy with an inch of snow at this point! Not the 70 degree day.

We've been getting hit with one storm after another for the last month. They are saying 2 more storms before a break mid week. It would be nice to get the highways cleared up of all the carnage created by these storms; but skiing has been great.

I love cold El Nino winters.

Believe it or not, still trying to plow my way to cows. We've been getting about 3 miles a day. The snow is like partially set concrete now. It seems like every day is some new unexpected challenge. Fuel pump goes out on payloader, flat tire on payloader, chains still haven't come in for payloader. Down to 1 18 pack of beer and one can of copenhagen. I've been away from work for a week now. My longest vacation in almost 11 years. What a feeling of accomplishment though. Outside in the elements all day, getting some good done. There's something about being around people who work hard all day, who don't shirk work or slack off. Makes me feel good to be around people like that all day long. And at the end of the day the beer tastes extra good. Trying to put up a couple pictures, but not my computer- can't figure it out, maybe when I get home.

Ron, I could tolerate the fuel pump, flat tire, and lack of chains...but run out of Copenhagen? It's time to move somewhere warm!

If you get to the point where you gotta re-dip, maybe we can arrange an air-drop for you.

Just pulled the 80-inch out of the snow and into the garage. It'll be a few days until the snow melts off of it. BRRRRRRR!

Thanks, Chance. I knew that if there was a way it could be done, you would have got 'er done! As it turns out, I had to come home for a couple days to get caught up at work (and stock up on Curs and Cope!). Headed back down tomorrow for five more days of plowin'. The good news is the big loader is out of the shop now and the chains are in. I'm going to kick some serious snow drift ass!

Thanks to you as well, Chris! It takes a fellow Cope man to understand what dire straits I was in.... Rest assured I have a full sleeve of freshies with me this time!

Screw you guys. http://www.tuckerman.org/photos/tucks/ This bowl usually has several feet of snow by this time. This has been the worst winter ever. No climbing, riding/skiing, and hiking sucks because there is no snow base. And to think that my girlfriend wanted to move to the Denver area last year because they don't get much snow.

Picked up a new attachment for the Ventrac and sure glad I did. I just heard the latest forecast for Winter Storm #4 here in the foothills of CO... wonder if I can rig it up on the front of the D90? Any links for assembling a P.T.O. on a Rover?

Glad to see the East Coast is finally getting some colder weather and even some precip!

Of course... I am flying home on Friday, if the Airport stays open. Just in time to shovel for 20 hours!

Found this

THINK ABOUT THIS FOR A MOMENT.

Denver Post:

This text is from a county emergency manager out in the central part of Colorado after today's snowstorm.

WEATHER BULLETIN

Up here, in the Northern Plains, we just recovered from a Historic event --- may I even say a "Weather Event" of "Biblical Proportions" --- with a historic

blizzard of up to 44" inches of snow and winds to 90 MPH that broke trees in half, knocked down utility poles, stranded hundreds of motorists in lethal snow banks, closed ALL roads, isolated scores of communities, and cut power to tens of thousands.

FYI:

George Bush did not come.

FEMA did nothing.

No one howled for the government.

No one blamed the government.

No one even uttered an expletive on TV .

Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton did not visit.

Our Mayor did not blame Bush or anyone else.

Our Governor did not blame Bush or anyone else, either.

CNN, ABC, CBS, FOX or NBC did not visit - or report on this category 5 snowstorm. Nobody demanded $2,000 debit cards.

No one asked for a FEMA Trailer House.

No one looted.

Nobody - I mean Nobody demanded the government do something.

Nobody expected the government to do anything, either.

No Larry King, No Bill O'Rielly, No Oprah, No Chris Mathews and No Geraldo Rivera.

No Shaun Penn, No Barbara Striesand, No Hollywood types to be found.

Nope, we just melted the snow for water.

Sent out caravans of SUV's to pluck people out of snow engulfed cars.

The truck drivers pulled people out of snow banks and didn't ask for a penny.

Local restaurants made food and the police and fire departments delivered it to the snowbound families.

Families took in the stranded people - total strangers.

We fired up wood stoves, broke out coal oil lanterns or Coleman lanterns.

We put on extra layers of clothes because up here it is "Work or Die".

We did not wait for some affirmative action government to get us out of a mess created by being immobilized by a welfare program that trades votes

for 'sittin at home' checks.

Even though a Category "5" blizzard of this scale has never fallen this early, we know it can happen and how to deal with it ourselves.

"In my many travels, I have noticed that once one gets north of about 48 degrees North Latitude, 90% of the world's social problems evaporate."

It does seem that way, at least to me.

I hope this gets passed on.

Maybe SOME people will get the message. The world does Not owe you a living.
