We hit the road yesterday evening and moving back to the lower 48! It's been a super hectic move so far so it's great to be driving down the road and finally being able to chill for a few days! I'll try to post some pics along the way but Canada will have some spotty coverage!
Here's a photo pulling out of the driveway - that was tough since we loved that house and really hate to see it go...the new couple buying it is really nice though so at least that's good!! Wish us luck!!

A really small town in Southern Illinois. While not the sexiest place in the world the new house is on 10 actes with a really nice shop so I can't complain!! It gets us back closer to family and friends too and a good job promotion for my girlfriend sonits a win overall!! It was tough leaving that house though!!

Yeah, I'll keep the same ID...I'm on too many forums with it to change! 😜

It's sad to see a really clean DC-3 used like that, but it does look cool!! Hopefully it had some major structural issues and couldn't be flown any longer! There are a LOT of DC-3's, 4's and 6's being used in Alaska still...It's pretty awesome to see an hear them in/out of the airports!!

We made it to WA state last night and will pick up our 2 dogs here and they'll be with us the rest of the way...that'll definitely make the ride more interesting!!

We got to stop and see the eclipse yesterday since the clouds (and smoke in BC) broke enough to make the viewing decent!

Sadly I think we'll end up going south of Des Moines. In Billings for the night and we'll hit the road early tomorrow...Does this look like a super excited face?? I think he's already tired of riding!! Sadly you can't even see our Lab who's buried in the seat under him!!

We finished the trip yesterday evening! 5,100 miles in just over 10 days and the 110 never missed a beat!! Burned 2 quarts of oil so I can't complain about that either. We were really lucky when we bought this truck about 5 years ago since it's really given us some great service and has never stranded us on any of our trips!

The trip went off without a hitch exceeeeeept... :-(
I made a mistake with our Autohome that could have been a huge mess!! And we hadn't even left Anchorage!! We had to drop off our Bronco at my office and there is underground parking...see where this is going?? I've been in the garage many times in the 110 and would've sworn that I had been in there with the Autohome...Guess I was wrong!! Pulled in and got a serious crunch!! Even wedge in so hard that I had to romp pretty hard to unstick it!! I thought I was going to puke as I saw shard of paint and fiberglass flying!! Got back outside and surveyed the damage!! While it did gouge 3 holes, we were very lucky the tent wasn't really damaged and it was still serviceable for the trip with a few strips of duck tape modifications! Once we get settled into the new home one of my first projects will be a proper fiberglass repair job. Boy did I ever feel stupid at the time for such a bone-headed move!! :-/
